In 2026, unexpectedly several controversies involving Indonesian women wearing green outfits captured massive public attention across social media. The description outlines the chronology of events, where it begins when the sick woman (original poster) was sitting in the priority seat. A middle aged woman showed up and asking to sit in her sear rudely, so the sitting woman refused. 

The sitting woman tried to explain her sick condition, but the standing woman scolded the woman who was sitting there. The standing woman spoke harshly, cursing the sitting woman,  even wished that the sitting woman stay sick and wouldn’t be able to get up the next day.

The sitting woman remain silent because of her headache, but the standing woman kept on insulting the sitting woman. Weirdly, the standing woman appeared to be in excellent health and physical condition; she even had enough energy to get angry during the trip. 

Although many people were sitting, the standing women specifically only targeted the person who uploaded the video (the sitting woman). The standing woman keeps talking rudely, believing that priority seats should be given to older people.

Meanwhile the priority seats are reserved specifically for passengers who need them. Passengers who are still able to stand and fit are prohibited from using priority seats.

This moment went viral and the clip reached 50+ Million views. Netizens pointed out the behavior of the standing woman who got extremely angry even though she’s the ones at fault.

Many people praised the sitting woman who stand her ground in silence, and did not give up her seat to the wrong person. 

There were rumors afterward that the standing women were suffering from mental illness. But there’s no reliable information, it’s just based on the woman’s abnormal behaviour that very temperamental.

There was neither clarification or public apology from the standing women, yet the video continued to be discussed by netizens until 2026.

2. Random Accusation

The second story comes from tiktok account @tador20, uploaded on 14th march 2026. A short video of green outfitted woman randomly accused a man (the poster) a dumb cop (original post here). 

From the video description, chronologically explained that the man suddenly approached by a woman saying "you're dumb” before having transactions inside a hypermarket. After the transaction, the woman followed the man then accused him as young police detective that looked at the woman suspiciously.

The woman also accused the man of having the look of a thief in his eyes, accusing the man of trying to steal her belongings. The woman then threaten the man that he’ll get fired from his job for violating the code of conduct.

The man didn’t respond to the woman’s scolds; he just stand in the escalator silently, recording everything the woman said. At the end of the video, the woman shouted that she wasn’t a criminal. 

The short video sparked a wide range of reactions from netizens and has garnered over 40+ million views. The mother’s strange behavior has drawn attention, raising questions about her mental state.

One thing that caught people’s attention was the way the woman spoke. She spoke with slightly sticking out her tongue so many times, which led netizens to find it humorous “Why her tongue so busy”-- said one of top comment.

There was no further clarification nor apology from either the uploader or the woman.The issue just ended like that, even though many people made parodies of it because the woman’s random behavior was considered funny.

One of her line that become famous is “Tidak Fantassttt” with a slight tongue-out expression. The word originally is “tidak pantas” in English means "inappropriate". The way the woman weirdly say it was one of the factors behind the video's rise in popularity.

3. Minister Controversy

The last story comes from Indonesian government. Specifically a statement from the Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, Arifah Fauzi.

On 27th April 2026, a train accident happened around Bekasi Train Station. A stopped train carrying passengers was struck by the Argo Bromo train due to a signal malfunction that failed to detect the initial train accident.

The front side of Argo Bromo train collided with the last carriage, a women-only carriage, killing 16 people and injuring 94 people. The statement made by the Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, Arifah Fauzi on April 28th sparked controversy and led to widespread criticism.

In a short interview which she's wearing green outfit, she explained that the solution to this train accident is to move the women’s carriage to the middle of the train, with the men’s carriage at the front and back. As if to suggest that women are not supposed of being victims and that men should be the ones sacrificed (Kompas post here). 

This opinion is of course form of sexist, because it does not offer a complete solution and merely swaps the gender of the victim. In just two days, netizens have criticized her opinion, many have also turned them into a national meme.
